This year I’m going to be more intentional. We can argue about setting yearly goals in January. Or about how nothing magical really happens from December 31st to January 1st.
I’ve always liked looking at the beginning of each year with a fresh view, like I was just born again at midnight. When I was in high school I used to put themes to each new year. I stopped doing that years ago, and truthfully I don’t even remember the themes (which were probably super cheesy). So this year, on top of having a big list of things that I want to accomplish, I am using intentionality as the main tool to finish my goals.
“Intentionality” didn’t come out of the blue.
We are having a baby this year, so of course we are being intentional with doctor’s appointments, medicines and all that. But as a video guy, I want to be intentional about recording the baby’s firsts, while also not overdoing it and going all paparazzi on my kid.
There have also been a couple of health situations that have left me thinking that I need more intentional time with the people who want the most from me: my family. I want to be intentional about creating memories and having more meaningful conversations.
Other things that I want to pursue this year:
-Read the Bible more
-Learn more about After Effects
-Foreseeing possible solutions for problems
-Eating out less
-Deliberately practicing my craft
-Being lees on my phone
Life is short, and I want to make sure that everything that I do has a purpose and counts for something.
